tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36017051.post761588373162609124..comments2023-09-28T20:46:34.871+05:30Comments on The Verse is Yet to Come: Vain ReactionThought-Leshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10237793982612415015noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36017051.post-21908742084877403762009-11-10T23:01:16.024+05:302009-11-10T23:01:16.024+05:30i had posted one lonnng comment n it got disconnec...i had posted one lonnng comment n it got disconnected!! :)<br /><br />anyway. lets see if i remember:<br /><br />im finally posting a comment only cos u brought me into it! :)<br /><br />i dono abt the whole "we cycle to save the environment" deal either. i cycled cos i wanted to do somethin different than jus get up n come to work n do nothing else during my day. i wanted exercise. sure i cudnt complete it but i was glad i did it cos it was a)fun b) it was good to be up n about rather than sleeping in the morning. why i cudnt do it the second time is my issue but to use it as one of the reasons to "prove" why groups such as these cannot make cyclists of lay ppl is incorrect. most ppl i saw there seemed to be there for reasons of 'exercise' n test of endurance more than anything else. so the environment thing is probably jus a bonus if it alters ppls minds (sad but i think thats the truth)..<br /><br />another interesting incident u wud like happened. a man on an "old-model bicycle" raced to a top ten finish while his son on a "high-quality" bike lagged somewhere far behind. :) later on that day i saw the man again near a temple (he had cycled all the way back) as active as the rest of us were tired!<br /><br /> i walk to work on most days..i do it for my own 'selfish' reasons..but that doesn mean i get all worked up abt ppl on cycles who ride on the wrong side n block my path just cos they can lift their vehicles while the rest cant :)<br /><br />but i think the title of ur post is a tad harsh on groups such as these. i mean...even if it can get (and i know it did)...a few ppl to think abt getting fit..which in turn wud mean putting an end to a wasteful lifestyle...its good right. jus a thotPavitrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400350254099900760noreply@blogger.com
