Worth My Weight in Dust

Hey, you, the respectable Dust.
You are on an errand,
tonight.
The morrow, you shall trudge
for the rays of sunlight.
And day after,
you shall reach
a place of absolution.
If and only if,
when and only when,
you deserve peace. But no,
yes you don't.

The if and when
of life
magnifies the truth,
a reality, mine and yours.
The inevitability of
a tanking worth.

Ode to the Dying Night

Morning, good!
The dying night
I cry for,
it drags away
my dreams with it,
to purgatory,
where the lust
is retained,
desires n myths too.
And purity?
That's purged
in a summer bonfire.

Legacy Doodles

There is a time
when time itself
stands still.
Long enough
for us to kneel
and draw doodles
on the loose sand
while out for a tan.

On a beach

we paint our legacy,
build skyscrapers,
a few dreams;
and let time, after its siesta,
blow its storm to prove again
that it's ashes to ashes,
dust to dust!

Ode to Insomnia

No, awake I was,
I strained to hear
ye breath in the darkness,
awake I remain...

Into the sleep patterns
I knock n enter,
I mock n leave,
For sleep is death,
death of love,
I fear death...

Dying Young!

Falling young
for the wealth, immortality,
exuberance n arrogance
of dying young.

For I’d beat time,
freeze it at the moment
I bent will n Iron
–oh, I could mend bartenders too.

I’d outrun rejection,
and the cancer
that would kill the
killer of men I am.

I’d live on,
laughing at the giver of life
I could never become,
what have I become, WHAT?

The Mirrors

In another train,
not so long back,
I never had the need
to turn and watch the
shaky mirrors behind,
which hid my virtual image
beneath the many faces
commuting to work,
to play, to love.
Then, I could only look ahead,
or to the left,
through the iron bars,
and watch the stallion,
with me on its saddle,
gallop alongside the
diesel-powered coaches,
beside the endocrine-driven
life and its dreams;
jumping over small brooks,
crossing meadows, little fences,
and concrete roads;
trails I never took in my life;
the lanes,
now forgotten...

See, now I travel
many a metres
under the precise,
geometrically symmetric
maxims of a teacher
in pristine white coat,
in a lab where
muscle fibres are,
first torn apart,
then stitched back,
to make Kevlar out of
human flesh...

I am forced to look back now,
onto the mirrors
behind me,
they shudder in fear,
are rickety in dread,
for my eyes are cold,
angry, in fire...
As I can’t heal my world,
nor can I stop
them all from dying,
nor can I stop the livingfrom crying!

Dark Matter

I needed this today,
yes I did, a darker shade;
this fallen grid grants my wish
and it's still not Christmas yet.

I lay bare, steadying my nerves,
urging the only truth I know
to embalm me gently, slowly,
head to toe, it's my coffin.

It began... a pale white hue,
life drains from my eyes;
then I see dark red,
but that blood thins out too.. It's emptiness!

No! No... This flash blinds me,
drags me away, far from rest,
from silence, from my home;
to face 'em all, the only reality.

It's High Time!

That green cover was
just perfect,
for it leaves my mom glad,
her son has a roof.
My shifting, swaying roof
is loyal to me though,
with random leaks,
it lets me revel in the
blessing from the heavens,
opening me to truths,
the ones I truly belong to,
the ones which cleanse me...

It can keep me in a

happy warp for hours,
watching a ship sail out yonder,
or those two boats which always
struggle to take school kids to
tuitions and then home.
This, the time when
sunsets never charmed me,
its romance never touched me,
as I was gay with the waves
and the digital snaps of ships
I will go home n copy on paper.

Then again this shower

did make me shiver
n run home for a blanket,
a cup of tea too,
which was always kept warm
for I was loved.
But the days vanish,
into thin air, the western winds blow it,
along with the clouds, to the hills.
Beyond my reach,
yes, I dread the climb and
the heights I will reach.

For I'm a man, destined to fall;

the higher I am, the bloodier my death.
